Macleaya Cordata (Willd.) R. Br.) is a perennial erect herb of the genus Macleaya cordata (Willd.) of the Poppy family, with a milky yellow juice at the base. Stems smooth green, up to 4 m tall, much white-pink, leaf blade broadly ovate or suborbicular, apex acute, acuminate, obtuse or rounded, lobes semicircular, square, blue-angular or other, margin undulate, notched, surface green, abaxially much white-pink, veinlets reticulate, often reddish; Large panicle flowery, terminal and axillary; Bracts narrowly lanceolate.
